Last Sunday was one of my favorite local shows, The Best of France and Italy. In attendance were several hundred great cars and some really bad ones. I Took a few (170 or so) snapshots while I was there.

That truck is truly one of the neatest things I've ever seen.

It has a 25 hp VW air-cooled, bug motor mounted under the seat driving the front wheels ("mid-engine!").
And those neat suicide doors.
I found one on Samba for sale that I think is the exact one in your photos. Asking $110,000 USD.

More info (thanks, Google!)

I don't even know what to say about ~THIS~!

Thanks for sharing, Steve. Can't wait to spend some time with your entire posting from the show (after dinner treat).

I do not think the Spirit of Fontana was a Kaiser Steel product! I would be afraid to drive the car b/c of the risk it might fly! Great pics!

Thanks for the pics Steve.

I gotta ask about the gray Citroen looking thing with wings on the trailer; is that for real? Does it fly, is anybody crazy enough to fly it?

If that thing flies, I don't want to be anywhere near it's crash path. It was built for the 1999 Paris air show.

Its' a MATADOR!!! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/jester.gif

Tempo Madadors were made in Germany ,

Front wheel drive ,

They used VW motors and also a 4 banger Austin A-50 water cooled motor,
pick-ups, vans and I have seen a special built camper back in the 80s in the LA \+ las Vegas area,

If you know where the camper one went please let me know !

Beaulieu

here are a bunch of Tempo brochures

Hey, It's Italian!! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/driving.gif /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/banana.gif /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/banana.gif /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/banana.gif /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/jester.gif

Everything there has some connection to Italy or France. Notice the gorgeous 1938 Bentley saloon. It was French-bodied. There's a 70's BMW in there somewhere. Pininfarina body. The list goes on!

What no Abarth's

Great pictures

Cheers

Mark

I did not see any "real" abarths like double bubbles or Record Monzas.....
