Different kind of beer... heard this story on the radio yesterday, happened in the early 1970's:
Guy was backpacking/hitchhiking through Calgary and was sleeping behind a gas station. A man pulls in in the middle of the night dead-drunk to the gas station (closed for the night), so the guy wakes up and starts talking to the guy and says "are you too drunk to drive?", drunk man says "probably... want to go to Banff? You drive [about an hour to the west]" So the the guy starts driving the car with the drunk man sleeping in the back, but he starts driving east and ends up in Swift Current, Saskatchewan [about 6 hours to the east] hops out of the car in the morning and proceeds to continue hitchhiking east leaving the drunk man sleeping in the car to wake up to a big surprise...
