David ("Gundy") and i have a new ride in the works here some detail for anyo fo you Western NC, upstate SC who may want toi get in on it.

Saturday August 22nd
1st meeting pace for the SC folks
Hwy 11 at the wide pull off just North of the hwy 276 Ceasars Head turn off 9:00
The we head up Hwy 276 to Brevard, continue thru Brevard, stop at the Ingles Supermarket at Hwy 276 in Brevard to pick up a few folks form Flat Rock, Hendersonville, and surrounding area. around 10:00-10:30

Then conmtinue up hwy 276 thru the Pisgah Forest pick up the Blue Ridge Parkway (we should bew there a little aftyer 11:00 so any folks form the Asheville area could mmet us there if they like, would that work for you Kim)

We will then head west on the BRP, and cross over the highest point on the parkway at 6000 ft, where we'll hope for clear sky and get a photo op with all pour cars, then proceed on West on the BRP toward Waynesville, get off on the
Hwy. 23/74 exit and head up the highway like 12 mies and get off at Dillsboro, have lunch at Dillboro BBQ (there are several other palces to eat there as well), then the ladies can shop in Dillsboro and us tru beer lovers can head down to
Heinzelmannchen Brewery in nearby Sylva (like 2-3 miles away), the website for the brewery is
www.yourgnometownbrewery.com
Many us have alrady been here, they sell you growler, a growler is fancy name for a glass jug, they fill up the growlers for like $8 with your favorite beer, the growler are reuseable, and sell for $30. I'm wanting to make this a annual run, so if you like the beer after trying it at the BBQ palce in Dillsboro, you can get a growler and get them to fill it for you, then you have good reason to do the Beer run next year as well

Anyone that has any question about attending, drop me a email of give me shout.

Oh this is real informal mountian ride, drive whatever you want and drive at what pace you want to, it all about having a good time. Here a picture of em and my Bud Ken last year up at the 6000 ft mark in our Bs.

Sounds good Hap but I can't commit yet. Wife most probably won't be with me due to the fact that she is working at a brand new book store and they are stocking it and having grand opening and all that BS and she has to be there about every day, but I am hoping this weekend will be the last on my folks roofing thing. I never saw a bumper sticker that said "I'd rather be roofing"

LBCs, mountains, beer and BBQ....does life get any better?

While you're at it, Hap, teach the guy who owns the MGB parked behind you in your photo how to properly lower his top so he doesn't end up with cracked plastic windows in his top.

Speaking as a former roofer, ain't *that* the truth!

Picky, picky!

Anyway, sounds like fun! Too far away but you may have inspired me....I've got to try to get some of our local guys to do stuff like this.

Shoot Tony, I don't know that I would know how to fold a top properly either, Spridget race cars and GTs don't have fold down tops

You Carolina folks no how to do it right! When I read the run desription, and see the photo, I can almost hear the Allman Brothers in the background!

Or the Marshall Tucker Band. :jester:
If'n we take the wife's B I plan on blasting some Doc Watson
along the way.

Oh and Tony....I love the zip out rear window on the ol
lady's B. Makes keeping that rear window flat with the top down
easy as pie.

Ill bring the Gopro camera along and if anybody wants to shoot some footage to keep, just bring along a 2 gig scan disc chip
and we can even review the shots on the mini flat screen
we throw in the possibles bag.
I'll shoot some footage for a Yuotube upload.

Howdy Hap & Gundy,

Hey Gents, Don`t forget about me! I`m here in Pickens. I`m a "Local" Up-State boy now!

Y`All can count me in for sure "IF" my car gets delv by then.

Hey Gundy, I called the carrier yesterday & now he "Promises" me next wk. I told him about the FBCC picnic on the 15th. & He said; "He`ll do his best"!

The problem with the carriers these days is that they don`t have enough work! He either wants to be dropping off or picking up somewhere in the southern states before bringing my car down! "D_AM IT"!!

Hey Hap; I have`nt heard from Yourself relative to "Tweeking" up my Bugeye. Please give me a call or email with your thoughts. "Thanx".

Regards, Russ

Howdy Hap,

"Thanx"! I`ll let you know when my car gets delv. Hopefully, next wk.

Then I`ll give you a call to set up an appointment.

Hey Gundy, Want to join in on the fun?

Regards, Russ

Hap, are you gonna post this over in the big MG section? Or did i just miss it? I found it on another LBC site! Bob

Feel free to cut and paste wherever you can. The more the merrier. I would if I knew how. Bob, do you think you can
join us in this soiree?

Sounds like fun! I'm hoping to be able to join y'all, but I work weekends, and it's like 100-1 shot of me getting that day off. I'd love to meet Hap, Gundy, Kim, and Russ in person. Hope springs eternal.

Hi There tao,

Where in PA do you live? You really need to come down to the "Up-State" SC area. Its a country area that would be best described as "Heaven for LBCs"!

See "Y`All" Later,

Regards, Russ

I do not know the cut and paste thing to move it to the MG section. Our local MG club is having a dinner that evening at Big Bens pub in Charlotte. I will see if i can at least get to the start of the run and maybe do a hour or so with the group. Since Lynda and i are the organizers for the Big Ben dinner it would be bad for me to not show up. Bob

I just took a short run in the midget to Mt Pisgah. It was 88 degrees down here and hot. I had been working on an old motorcycle all day and decided to cool off.
It was chilly up there and just what I needed. Looks like we are about done with my parents roof Job (God its been tough) and should finish all up before this weekend, so things are looking up for the 22nd run. Lets don't let Hap go in front if we want to keep together

Sure hope you can make it Kim. That'd be great!

Hap will do "Hap", no changing that M.O.
Heck if he starts near the rear we're all in trouble.
Rubbin' is racing as they say.

Yep, it's hot down here in Greenville, so 6000 ft will feel good  I'll try to behave myself a bit better  this time, but might as well let me up front, that saves me passing my buddies  One good thing, thats about the time schoool starts back so the vacationers in SUVs should be not too bad, but I'm sure the Harley slugs will be in force

Bob, david posted it up here in the MG site, and I posted it over at the MGex, and then both SBMOC adn FBCC also have been made aware of this.
