There was so much more to the Beatles' first US TV show, but now the truth can finally be told.

Fun to connect those gals with that classic footage.
This summer I was in the "Ed Sullivan Theater" (though substantially remodeled from back them - for The Late Show).

LOL No, I didn't see the second half (I think it was)... as my wife pulled me away.
Hilarious. "Music by and for mules."

Back in August 08, I had to take an early morning trip to town on a Saturday to work. I normally did not work on Saturday but we were doing an important proposal and I had to drive in to work on this particular August Saturday to work on that proposal.

As I was driving west on I-40, in Tejeras Canyon, there was very little traffic on the road at 7-ish in the morning. However, I found myself behind a Ford Bronco that had a man and woman in it. Normally I would not have given it a second thought, and the only reason I remembered it was that my Brother-in-Law once had a Bronco just like this one. The other thing that caught my eye was that it had New York state license plates and I remember thinking "boy, they're a long way from home." The Bronco turned off I-40 at the the Tijeras exit and headed north on US14 (Turquoise Trail), which takes you to Santa Fe.

Well, the next day (or maybe the day after that?), on the front page of the paper, there was a story that Sir Paul and his girl friend were traveling across US and following RT 66. That Saturday they had visited Santa Fe and the Georgia O'Keefe museum. I later learned they were traveling in HER Ford Bronco with, can you guess? New York license plates!

Based on that evidence, I am 90% certain that on that Saturday morning I was driving behind Paul McCartney and his girl friend. The likelihood there would have been another Ford Bronco with New York plates heading north to SF on US 14 on the exact same Saturday as Paul and his lady is pretty remote.
