The Beatles Canadian connection...
Just heard an interesting tidbit on the radio this week... We all know this is the famous anniversary of the Beatles first appearance on the Ed Sullivan Show in 1964, everyone is talking about it...
Turns out, up here in Canada we had a little head start on the United States, there was a Toronto record distributor who brought in pretty much any British record that was released, being all part of the British Commonwealth and such... So in the fall of 1963 he released the Beatles album here in Canada, and it apparently was quite popular up here, but word still spread rather slowly until February 1964 when they finally came to New York...
