I'm the one who replaced the worn synchros on the Spit. I'm the one who made it worse. Took the gear box out yesterday and now I'm looking for an online source for checking and rebuilding that is better than the Haynes manual I've been using. Any help will be greatly appreciated. I don't want to do this a third time.

You may be better off finding a used gearbox. A lot of the guys on this forum I would guess have a couple laying around in there collections. Or call teamtriumph.com and he can ship one to you.

I considered doing this, then noticed that Quantum Mechanics had them for like $599 rebuilt in your choice of scroll or lip seal with a decent warranty. I think I'm going that route instead.
