Oh man, so weird.

A tropical weather event passed south of the
island over the weekend, makes a 180* U-turn,
gathers strength and comes back at us. Now our
local weather guys are telling us to batten the
hatches as Cat 1 or 2 hurricane Omar is gonna
smack us head on.

Oh me, oh my !!

Hang on man, we're with you.
Tighten down the windows (real windows, not 'putor) and hug Wendy.

Me, Annie, and the kittens are all sayin' our prayers for you.

That'll mess up the fishing for a week, I bet.
Hope you are able to stay dry, and SAFE!!

<span style="color: #000099">Much more than a week, dale. The 39 inches we got
three weeks ago killed off most of the estuary bait fish. Now
they are predicitng another 30+ inches.

A good thing I'm a pro with artificials!!

Get Crypty under the carport & buttoned up tight!

Dale , that's one heck of a lure

Stay safe and dry down there, Dale.

Everything buttoned up and secure.

The Grey Ghost is in the driveway standing guard.

Age old hurricane question about garage doors.

1. fully closed.
2. Fully opened.
3. Half way to reduce the pressure.

The Tinster knows!!

dale

My guess is fully closed. leave the little breezeway clear, but try to keep any flying debris outta the garage. if anything, reenforce the door.. But we ain't never done had no big hurry-canes round here. They's just big old windy rainstorms by the time they's up our way.... soze I don't know whut the real answer is.

Batten down.

sheesh.

I will take the snow anytime over hurricanes
at least you can shovel it,

Yup, the beast just shifted a bit to the west which
would put the eyewall over eastern PR. (Crytpy-land)

The garage door answer is:

Half way closed with two auto parked inside.

Less surface area and
the two cars serve to break up the wind flow.

Fully opened works also but creates a huge mess to
clean up inside the garage.

Fully closed and you'll be buying a new door and have your autos in the body repair shop for quite a while.

Safest place to be inside your house during a severe
hurricane? Tucked in under the stairs.

All my glass windows and doors are 200 mph rated.

next to the liquor

Sales of liquor here are banned during hurricanes.

So folks buy up all the rum, toilet paper and milk
just before the ban goes into effect.

I remember living in the States and all the toilet paper
and milk would be sold out when the weatherman called
for 1/2 inch of snow.

What is there about snow and wind causes these intestinal
problems?

BUT HEY!!! We woke up to sunshine this morning.
Hurricane Omar shifted to the east at the last moment and spared us.

Good news!
We woke up to a soaking rain. Warm, but wet. Oh well, I knew our run of awesome fall weather coulden't last forever.
