Hello all, great to be here. I'm a Brit living in Hampshire SE England. My 2 British cars are a 1967 MG Midget and a 2017 Jaguar XF. The Midget has just been resprayed after fitting a number of new or re-fabricated panels, that's the second time in the 30 years that I've owned the car. The car's used for pleasure of all sorts whenever possible and has in recent years had modest success in club level motor sport including Autosolos and Sprints.

The Jag is simply an indulgence and would be my daily commute if it wasn't for COVID-19 restrictions. I hope to keep the Jag for at least as long as I've owned the Midget if only I can live that long having already been on this earth for 66 years.

I also have a motor home (called an RV in the States - I think) which was coach-built in the UK on a French chassis. My wife has a small French car from the same manufacturer which is a daily runabout but has been modified at the front end as it sometimes serves as a "toad" when we're away in the motor home.

I'm a former member of the now closed MidgetSprite Yahoo Group which is how I learnt of this forum. I'm hoping to find some very helpful Midget hints here just as I did on the Yahoo Group. I'm also hoping that I might occasionally be able to help others based on my long and wide experience of British car ownership which, over the years, has included; a Ford Cortina, Ford Escorts, an Austin A30 and an A35, Ford Zodiac, Ford Corsair, Austin Cambridge, Hillman Hunter, Triumph 2000, Vauxhall Cavalier SRI, Vauxhall Carlton CDi, 2 Vauxhall Fronteras (an "A" and a "B") and a second Midget.

Thanks again for letting me join.

Welcome, Billum!

Another RV'er here - have a Jayco Precept 31UL, pulling a Jeep Wrangler JLU toad. Our current British cars are an '03 Jag XK8 and a Victor TF 1800 replica, similar to the Naylor 1700 over in your home, I believe.

We've a great "Spridget" community here ready and willing to compare notes and kick virtual tires with you. Glad to have you aboard!

welcome! sounds like a great history and great cars. I presume the RV (Rialto) and the toad are Renaults? (It's OK we can utter the name of other brands and cars from other countries without our keyboards bursting into flames)

Thanks JPSmit. The RV is built on a Peugeot Boxer and the toad is a Peugeot 108. :encouragement:

drats I thought I nailed it - cool regardless!

Hello Billum

Welcome to the forum.

You should get plenty of tips and advice for your MG Midget in the Spridget section of the forum.

Post some photos of your collection RV included.

David

Thanks David, I've just uploaded a few photos of my present "rides" including one of the RV and the toad.
