If you guys remembered what this wheel looked like before, being all cracked and split, then You can appreciate what went into getting it to look this way. The outer rim is not as original, as I could not find a marbling technique to make the rim look original using acrylic, so I painted the whole wheel with the Moss color for the hub. 4 coats of color with 5 coats of clear coat, of course with 600 wet sanding in between.

Remember the before? The whole wheel looked like this.

Whadaya think? The finger grips were a royal pain! PJ

Don't know why, but by reducing the size of the photo, the spokes look ripply. There smooth as glass in the real.

amazing. that looks really great!

Just in case you're wondering, this is what I use instead of PC7 to bond the cracks. You have to work a little faster, but it seems stronger to me. PJ

Paul,

I am familiar with Devcon epoxy but haven't seen the colored stuff. Where did you find it. Very nice job since I know exactly what it looked like before you started.

Marv

Marvin, If I remember correctly, it came from Advance Auto. It's Grey in the center, the hardener on the outside is a reddish bronze. It drys to a light pink color.

Is that stuff sandable?

What is the MOSS part number for the hub paint?

Moss #220-530. And yes it is sandable Vince. Once cured it's very hard but files and sands easily. Only thing is, you don't have a whole lot of time to work it in the cracks before it starts to set up. PJ
