A friend of mine had a nice MGB that he rarely drove. He owned it fro years and kept it inside or covered all the time. Last year h
when I had my heart surgery he checked on me and offered any help I might need. Late last year he started having problems, went to the same hospital I did in Lubbock but his outcome was bad..died on the operating table. 54 years old. a couple of months ago I was approached about making an offer for the car..I did..picked it up last week. Other than a squalling water pump..new one on way..its fine. Paint has to go..yellow is okay but the flames??? Anyhow, also has chrome wheels..I have originals. Interior, top..and even all electricals work fine. Pulling the engine while body is stripped of bumpers, chrome..w/s etc and installing an o/d trans. hope the pic posts.

A terrible way indeed Jack, but, mitigated somewhat by you helping the relieve the family of a burden - and in a way that reassures them the car is going to a good home.

Both those things mean a lot, but still sorry for the loss.

keep us posted.

Well said JP. I think I would clean it up and service it and start driving while you think about what you want to do with it. I kinda like the flames and that's definately a yellow B!

Hmmmmm...I have to enter a vote against the flames. As for the yellow--not my style, but the color of any car is up to the owner's taste.
What year is it?

Silly comment ahead - I see your point, flames and an MG typically have more to do with Lucas and less to do with performance. :jester:

It now has a new water pump and thermostat. New battery on Monday and then I'll take it for a short run....flames and all. Not my style either guys and the yellow is a bit much, so it'll go to the teardown area and get disassembled and the drivetrain removed. have a new clutch set and an o/d trans waiting to go in. It was a white car from factory and my A and C are white...so kinda leaning that way. Also loosing the chrome wheels. Debating on whether to do the switch to wire wheels. I have all the stuff in stock, plus the other two MGs are wire wheel cars..The nice part in this whole thing is my 13 year old Grandson is going to be helping this old geezer out at my shop this summer...AND going on a mission trip to a Navajo pueblo with me in July...Good young man...Landyn Lethgo.
