Termites maybe

Swarming has been going on but has died off for the most part. I found what appeared to be an adult swarmer with no wings in my bathroom upstair. I wasn't too worried cause I figured he got tracked in on some clothes. Well, I've found what appears to be about 6 more in the same location. I had slight ant trouble in the same area just before this. It had been dry for a a while and thought they may have come in looking for water. The downstair bath would have been closer but I do have a birch tree that touches the house in about the same area. I did find some small active termites at the base of the birch in a piece of driftwood PO had left. I also found a dirt tunnel to the crack in the brick about 15 feet away from the driftwood but it appears to have been made by ants. This wall is the outside kitchen wall and I have had some trouble with ants there but not any more.

My question is, should I be alarmed I have a few swarmers in my house? I imagine they could have come in through the eves into the attic on the other side of the bathroom wall but I'm unsure.

Wouldn't hurt to have an expert come out and inspect, much cheaper than finding them somewhere down the road and possibly needing hidden structural repairs, particularly if you're trying to sell at the time.

I had ant trouble in our kitchen/mudroom several years ago. The exterminator would come about once every 3 months to spray, but never did a lot of good until one of them suggested to check for termites. He said where there are ants, especially fire ants, there were termites. Sure enough we found the termites, had the house treated, no more termites or ants.

Seems to be carpenter ants. I looked around outside but didn't see an entry point.

Find the nest, start melting some more aluminum.

Already have plans for that. Gotta really ate up oak piece for that but I need to get caught up first. I'm now in two galleries and need more stuff but don't have time. When I had time, I didn't have any need to make more stuff...

Rent an anteater.
