Temp gauge grommet

Is it possible to replace the firewall grommet on the temperature sender capilary tube by pushing over the sensor end?
Thanks

If the grommet is the right size for the hole in the firewall, just cut the grommet through with a razor blade and fit it into the hole. It should mate well with the hole, and it's much easier than wrangling it over the wiring, etc.

That is, IF I understand your question correctly. . .

Thanks for that tip. That seems the simplest way to do it. The hole in the grommet is so small compared to the sensor end, it would be tough getting the grommet over it without ruining it.
