I have teenage Girls on BOTH sides of me.
On the right is a small three bedroom house (HUD Housing),
where the Grandmother,Mother,Mother's boyfriend,& four
teenage girls (13-17) live.
On the left,I have a divorced mother, with two
teenaged daughters,& a 1-2 year old son.
The girls all have TVs in their rooms,& they all have
cell phones.
Why don't I understand why this is?

They've been raised to be connected and entertained 24/7. Many kids these days don't read for pleasure or exercise their imaginations, or at least it seems that way to me. They also, like teens throughout history, prefer relating to their peers and texting allows that every hour they're awake.

Heck, teens don;t even want to learn to drive anymore when they're old enough. Between Skype, phones and texting there's no reason to leave the house anymore.
