Aloha,

It has taken me longer than planned, which is usually the case, to rebuild my XPAG engine. I'm in the final stages of installation in the chassis. I need help in where to mount the engine ground strap. I'm guessing either from either a bell housing bolt to chassis or engine bearer plate bolt to shock mounting bolt. Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Dave (seems that I have seen that name somewhere:eagerness:smile:
The ground strap goes from the bolt at the 9 o'clock position of the bell housing (when viewed from the back of the engine) to one of the bolts that hold the left hand tower to the frame. I would suggest cleaning the area under each of those bolts be cleaned and sanded down to bare metal, then coated with something like a copper bearing grease or other dielectric type of grease (available at Home Depot or Lowe's).

If you are not already a member of the Classic MG T Club in Hawaii, I would suggest that you contact Willie Williams at: williehawaii@hawaii.rr.com for information
Cheers,

Aloha Dave,

Thanks for the info. Willie and I are in the same club. He has been very helpful to me since he has a perfect example of almost all the T series cars.

You have also helped me with other project before, either here or on your website.

Mahalo and Merry Christmas,
Dave

My strap is attached to the side of the battery box. Is that what you call the bell housing?

Erick, The ground for the battery should be attached to the battery box yes. There is a short uninsulated strap that connects the engine ( at the bell housing) to the chassis. On my TC there is also a braided strap that connects the chassis ( at the three way brake union) up to the firewall and off to the guage panel.
