T-Series TD Stuff

Great Pumpkin - R.I.P

Well, next week we start reassembly of my '53 MG TD....so, this weekend I'm going through all the stuff I have to take to the ody shop or upholstery shop

...& I'm finding I have some extra, unique & valuable pieces such as: 2-bow top frame, nice used, black full tonneau, nice, used 3-bow black top, a new set of Brooklands windscreens (reproductions), a new heater box, a spare gas tank that's going to the shop next week to be cleaned/lined...

...& I'm betting I find other stuff in my boxes & boxes of TD stuff!

Maybe I'll be able to afford that paint job after all! hehehehe

That spare tank alone would just about pay for the paint job.

Tell whoever is doing the stripping to just leave the tank in the stripper just long enough to get all the crud off. I found out the hard way that leaving the tank in the stripper too long takes most of the fuel line and drain plug fittings off. I was left with a very thin shell with a few threads on the inside. I have just finished building them back up with Devcon and installing helicoils in hopes of not having to weld new pieces in.
Cheers,
