Could any TD or TF owner give me the width of the radiator support bracket(the one the radiator sits on and is bolted across the chassis rails) also what gauge plate is used in its structure, I should with these be able to make one as mine did not come with the car. Thanks Saltiga
The one on my TF is 4 3/16 inches wide front to rear with a stiffening channel about 1 1/4 inches wide center on it. The channel is about 1/8 inches deep and is pressed outward. The ends turn up about 5 inches on each side (left and right) and the length at the base in the center is about 13 7/8 inches. The thickness of the steel is about 1/16 inches. Another piece if steel about 2 1/2 x 8 inches is welded over the channel in the base to give the radiator bottom a flat surface to rest on. A piece of 1/8 inch thick steel is also mounted in the channel on each side of the upward part of the mounting plate. These are drilled to accommodate the two bolts on each side that attach radiator. The mounting bolts (3/8 inch diameter)the attach the bracket to the chassis are 1 1/2 inches long over all and the base is 3/4 inches in diameter and extends 1/2 inch from the bracket. I'll try to get some photos also.
