Tar Top Batteries

For your consideration -

In going over the inventory of parts that I acquired with my recent purchase of my 1957 MGA Coupe I noticed something of interest.

My car was in the beginning stages of restoration in 1993 when a boat load of parts were purchased from Moss. Included in the boxes of parts are two 6 volt tar top original batteries.

Will they work when charged???

Please help.

Thanks in advance.

If those were dry charge batteries, with the electrolyte in separate containers, they may work when the electrolyte is added and the batteries charged. If they have been sitting since 1993 with electrolyte in them, they are probably so sulfated that they are junk by now.
Cheers,

Dave,

They haven't been touched. I am thinking they will work when electroyte is added...

Thanks.
