GT question here. I know I'm working on both at the same time. I'll have to re-register as a different member so I can really confuse myself.

I think I may need to replace the tappet cover gaskets & the oil pan gasket. There is oil leaking onto my exhaust & smoking. Any tips or is it straight forward stuff?

I also have a drip coming from the trans somewhere.

If oil is getting onto the exhaust, I would expect the leak to be above the exhaust. So, maybe the valve cover is dripping a bit too? Then again, when under pressure fluids can leak side ways too. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif

This might be heresy for some people, but I put in silicon gaskets on my car's valve cover and side covers. Reuseable, and it seems to provide a nice leak free seal up there. The gaskets came in a kit that had all three gaskets, and extra material so you can make other smaller gaskets out of the rest if you want.

I dunno about the bottom end though.
