On this morning's commute.
Temps in the upper 20s, clear sky, dry roads.
Long stretch of ice (from a broken water main or something) on an up hill sweeping turn at about 30 mph.
Didn't see it until I was on it.
TR6 did exceptionally well. The front wheels kept pointing in the right direction while the back end, wheels spinning, swung pretty far out and then stayed there until I made it around the curve.

I won't need any coffee the rest of the day.
 
Talk about surprises. I'm glad it all turned out well (no pun intended).

That and the weight distribution is good. The engine sits far enough back to keep some weight on the rear.
Except for the ground clearance, it's as good or better in the snow than a lot of other rear wheel drive vehicles.

I've been taking the TR6 on my 50+ mile round trip commute to work all winter long, except for days when we're getting more than a couple inches of snow.

My only complaint is the draftiness. I've gotta find a reasonably priced hardtop.
 
Sounds like fun. Luck must be with you, because my last foray into sliding didn't go so well. I happened to be in the rain, rather than ice/snow, but it understeered right into a street sign.
 
How ya making out with that Webb??? Is the car up and running again??
 
First one I did open throttle was a 4 lane divided highway on a left turn.
The big girl likes 1st gear alot, a.k.a, smoking!!!!!!!!!!! LSD made the difference in it staying on the road. Open diff is too much to handle.
...Keeping it on two wheels.

BTW, Webb, what's the scoop on the coupe?
