Taking body off frame

Hello all,

I am two years into a restoration of a TR4A, and am replacing the floors... Following the advice of many here on the forum, I plan to 1. brace body at top of doors (done), 2. Remove body from frame, 3. Remove old floor from body, 4. Bolt new floor to frame, 5. Drop body back onto frame, 6. Check doors and body panels for proper alignment, 7. Weld floor to body, 8. Repeat for the passenger side.

Question: How to separate the body from the frame? I have all the bolts (27) out, removed the carbs, clutch and brake lines, tacho and speedo cables, and the interior is out. There will be some electrical dissasembly once the body is "free" but still close to the frame.

1. The manual says to take apart the radiator cooling hoses... is this necessary?

2. Pulling on the body (using my arms) does not move the body off the frame... I suspect there is 40 years of gunk holding the body in place.

Is there a good place to "wedge" the two apart - obviously without deforming the body itself? Should I keep "pulling" at the body until it pops off?

Thanks!
Mike
