Tailpipe exhaust back into passenger compartment

Maybe the correct way to attack the problem is NOT to lengthen or re-position the pipes, but to disrupt the boundry layer that is sucking the exhaust up onto the cockpit.

Maybe adding a Porsche-esque Whale Tail is the answer...

YEA..... That's the ticket!

The first picture is not the extended exhaust as was suggested  , but rather leverage to persuade the exhaust to bend outward, versus the current inward.

It bent quite nicely. You will note that they are now on the other side of where the over rider would have been, if I chose to put it on. I will have to trim them so they are even, but that is a lot easier than the cutting and re-welding that I had planned on. I will test them on my drive into work tomorrow and see if I notice a difference and let you know.

I recall taking a young lady into town in a 100/6 years ago, she entered the car with an emaculate hair style and ended up in town with her hair wrapped around her face.
The point here is that you will get the turbulence unless you break it some how. The whale tail would probably do it, but I do believe that there is now a wind spoiler marketed for the Big Healeys that will fit into the sockets for the tonneau bar. I know that I have seen the adverts I just can't remember where.

Looks like something you can attach to the factory lugguage rack! AKA "rear badge bar".

In the short run that I took, it was substantially improved. I will need to drive some more to really understand if this will be a good solution.

I never had an exhaust smell in the car since routing them like this on my BJ8.
