Are both tail light lenses or plates the same or are there rights and lefts? Parts books indicate they are the same. I'm questioning this because my lights seem to be cocked toward the outside of the car. Maybe this is normal.
 
But the mounting surfaces aren't necessary the same.
 
That's correct. The rear fender and trunk do not line up exactly causing the tail light assembly to be oriented outward.
