Rich,
Was so glad to hear that in the midst of such a terrible catastrophe you were extremely lucky, family is safe, and your home intact. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and the entire community.

Sharon

Best wishes TH.

My son is a KC-135 pilot who just completed his first flight as an AC. He flew to Japan and back to the states on a medvac mission. They landed in San Diego Sunday night. Then, on Monday, they flew from Sad Diego back to Grand Forks, ND and he said they flew directly over the Tahoe fire (at 35,000 ft) and said it look very intense, even from that altitude.

Keoke, Don is 4 miles east of us and safe. He called the first afternoon to see if we needed a place to stay and my Healey also. Great guy.
My office area was evacuated yesterday but opened to;day. Just a lot of smoke.
Sounds like illegal campfire by one of the cute little lakes by my house. All the West needs rain so if you pray, thats what we need most. Fire season goes on thorugh September. Being early, the resorces are not spread thin yet so they jumped on it with 1800 fire fighters. What will happen when that kind of force is not available will be catistrofic.

OK TH, glad to hear he is OK too. Thanks for the Update.-- /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cheers.gif---Keoke

I am glad that you and yours are safe from this disaster. I wish we could send you some of the rain that has plagued Oklahoma the last two weeks. Keep us posted.

Miss Agatha says she is pleased that you and yours are safe.

Thanks for the updates.

Good news for us! We will be able to return home with limited utilities today. We will go in to see but not sleep there until Friday. I could get use to plush hotel life. My wife's company (Harrahs)has been great to us. The fire still goes on but has moved 5 miles north. We pary for and console others not so lucky.
I am an Optometrist and have extended my hour into the evening (hey, no place to go anyway) to help and made arrangements with labs and insurance companies to get free eye exams and glasses for those who left these thing behind. We are a tight and tough community. We will be okay and again enjoying this beautiful area and all it has to offer.
They will catch those kids who built an illeagle campfire but you cannot replace what was lost to so many. Thanks for all your paryers and wishes. It helped me through this crisis.
Now back to Healeying and other LBC's.
Rich
