Tachometer that works, stops, works, etc

I have reviewed the archives for the last two years but did not come up with the answer. I sent my tach to MoMa for repair when it stopped working. She indicated that there did not seem to be anything wrong. When it came back, it worked for one drive. I then tried replacing the cable and it worked for a month or so, but has stopped again. I am thinking there is still a problem with the tach.
Ideas? By the way, this is a BN4.

I took the cable off the back of the tach and it did not turn. So I took it off the distributor drive and it was broken off in the drive. It was a new cable, so I am surprised that it broke so early. Ordered a new one from MOSS.
