Tach.

Hi, I bought my Midget about 2 yrs. ago and the tach was not working but there were other more pressing things to do. Now its time to adress the tach problem but I can not seem to find anything on the web or in my books that address this directly. Any help or diagrams would be great. Its a 1965 (mostly) are they totaly elec. or are they cable driven?
Also I read somewhere here that some one had to different front fenders, well so do I, the directional signal on one is closer to the headlamp than the other. Which one is correct?
Any help would be great. Thank you

Has your car been converted to negative ground? I had a '67 MGB GT that had been converted, but the DPO had neglected to convert the tach, which rendered it inoperative. An hour or two spent with some tools and I had a fully operating tach....cheap repair!

Re: the fenders. I think that the fender with the higher light is correct for your car, and that they lowered the lights in the late 60's or early 70's when they changed to a thinner front bumper. I'll have to double check Horler's book to be sure.
