Doesn't a bugeye tach only go to 6000?
Any/all later model tachs can be made to work.
The 4" postive grd tach needs to be converted to neg grd if you run an alternator.
The 68-73 tachs are already - grd and have the internal loop and are much easier to wire in but they are smaller. BUT the guts fit inside the 4" tach and the needle and face are interchangable.
And them the late 74 Midget tach is a simple 1 wire hook up again it's smaller but can be made to fit a 4" can.
