tach question

The tachometer on my S1 Elan is behaving erratically when driving at a speed. It’s fine until the revs get above 3K, then the tach needle swings crazily up and down...as soon as I slow down to about 3K, it again works fine. Is this an indication of a faulty cable or clock? Any input would be appreciated. Thanks

Darn those pesky Elan tach's. I haven't run into
that problem before.. Hopefully someone else has.

( Still trying to fix my own tach problem..)

I would suggest run a seperate wire from your power source and from the tach to the coil to see if there is a short in your stock wiring.( or very hiogh cable resistance )
