This project came with a new older tach cable and I wanted to re-lube the cable. What do people suggest to use for the lubricant?

I use SIl Glyde from Napa.

Smiths said to use grease, applied "sparingly"; and relube every 10,000 miles.

Grease is what I use on both cables. Just a little and not much at all on the last foot or near the speedo/tach head.
