tach angle drive grease - which one?

Which grease should I use to lube up the Tach Angle drive? I've got it opened up, but it's difficult to tell whether what's there is dirty white/lithium grease or something else...

My tach went wild today - spun all the way around at one point..weeee.... So I'm taking the time to walk through the system from beginning to end.

thx!

Chasses grease is what was in there, but mine now has white lithium grease. Don't forget the drop of oil with it. Not a lot of grease now.

I think white lithium grease should be fine. You don't want to use anything that will introduce a lot of drag. The whole thing just isn't very strong.

If the tach spun around, I'll bet anything that the magnet is dragging on the aluminum cup. Might be difficult to fix; I have a speedometer here that is doing that, and I can't really get it right. The good news is that these tachometers show up regularly on eBay and aren't expensive.
