LBC fans,

Ya' ever notice that those little parts that always seem to disappear are not for sale anywhere???

I am missing the retaining/mounting brackets and nuts for my Speed-o-meter and tach-o-meter for my 57 MGA...

Anyone have a couple with which they are willing to part???

You were issued two per instrument... What'd ya DO wif 'em?!?!
Mebbe Tony has a bin full of 'em and would be willin' to part with a few?

You need the longer ones then... I've a few shorties. If Tony ain't got 'em I'll check about here. I ~may~ know of a victi.... errr... volunteer donor Midget I can snipe.

DrEntropy,

To answer your query... <div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Quote:]What'd ya DO wif 'em?!?!
[/QUOTE].. I think that they are in that big recyling bin in the sky!?!?!? /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/rolleyes.gif

I think the MGA's speedometer and tach are larger in diameter than the midget... not sure...

There is one bracket on each...ya' know, the one that attaches to the back of the housing and holds it in place...

It is a U shaped bracket with a swoop to clear the cable mount...

Yup, brane fade. "Horseshoe" type. Measure the di... oh. nevermind. I'll measure what I found and compare to MGB. The B and A are the same. I'll report back.

DrEntropy,

Regardless of what others may say... you are a gentleman and a scholar..... /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smirk.gif

I thought you had WORK t'do.

DrEntropy,

I do, but like I said, 'tis simply an interruption to my LBC passion.. besides, it pays for the parts...

AND... like I said... I GOTTA GET TO WORK..... I think they call this an obsession... /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/rolleyes.gif

Just thought I would refresh this post...

I am still looking for the retaining brackets for the A's speedometer and tach.

I have my driver '66 B that has a set that will fit but it is already feeling like the neglected child since I have been pilfering parts from her but keeping her on the road... /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/rolleyes.gif

She is definately going to quit on me at the most inconvenient time to get even... /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

I may have a set I could loan you, but I don't have any "extras". Let me know if that helps and I'll dig through my spare gauges.

Steve,

Thanks for the offer of the 'loan' but every time I sit in my A I would be thinking .. 'I gotta send these brackets back to Steve...' /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smirk.gif

I think I found a place in SoCal that sells exclusively used british car parts -- https://www.usedbritishcarparts.com

I'll let you know if this is a good place for parts.. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/thumbsup.gif

Ron! I got a VERY nice bootlid from them a few years ago... they were apologising for the condition of the thing and I expected to have to reman the thing. It came in a box UPS and was SUPERB in comparison to what I was replacing. Good guys, IMO.

The Midget brackets won't work, so hope they've got some there.

DrEntropy,

I called them. Eric answered and said ' yep, ten bucks fer the pair'... can't beat that...

They also, per their website, have a bunch o' stuff for my B... fenders $150, etc... hummm... Not much MGA stuff but a bunch of schtuff for TR, Jag, among others... 20 minute drive from my house... /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/thumbsup.gif

'xcellent. I believe "Eric" is the fella I spoke with too. Good resource, them.

That's interesting. On eBay they are known for highly overpriced parts. It's the main reason I've never bothered to call or buy parts from them.
