I just finished doing the Goodparts front swaybar upgrade on my 6. It's pretty simple apart from one thing - when he blithely tells you to remove the old swivel brackets, there is no mention of the difficulty of getting to the nuts...
I ended up dismounting the radiator (leaving it attached to the pipes, but movable) to get to them. It took longer to unfasten those 4 nuts than it did to do the entire rest of the conversion. I was 5 minutes from getting a grinder out to cut the shackles when I finished, and if anyone is contemplating it I'd recommend just cutting them.
I wasn't expecting much change - I have the rest of the suspension to do, and it's all original in the worst way - but I took it for a spin around the block. WOW /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/yesnod.gif what a difference. I went round the roundabout (circular to most of you) at the end of the road 5mph faster than normal without the tires protesting as they usually do. So far so good.
Perhaps I'll install the rear one tomorrow - unless the weather is good, then I'm going for a drive...
