The "stiffness" of a twisted bar varies with the fourth power of it's diameter. A 7/8" bar is 85% stiffer than a 3/4" bar. A 3/4" bar is 200% stiffer than a 5/8" bar. A 5/8" bar is 243% stiffer than a 1/2" bar.
