TR2/3/3A Sway bar attachment points

I’m looking at not attaching my ADDCO sway bar to the bumper irons... rather, Welding a short 2x2” mild steel tube to the end of each frame and connecting to that. I would also forgo that short extension to the lower wishbone arm and attach the sway bar directly to the middle spring pan bolt.

The only issue I have is whether it’ll have sufficient freedom of travel as the suspension moves through its whole range. Unless one of you thinks of another. Especially interested in Tush’s opinion, since he has one mounted to his bumper irons. (You think nobody watches your videos?!)

Jim On page 21 of Bob Shallers "More BS about TR's" there is a description and pictures of a better way to mount the sway bar. I did this years ago and it works great. Maybe someone who sees this could post the pictures for you?

Jim,

If you do not have a copy of Bob Shaller's book here is the pertinent information on the Anti-Sway Bar.

For sure— that’s the backup plan. I just saw that the sway bar was almost exactly 2” from the end of the frame when the attachment piece is not used, so thought I’d try that. May not work. Jim
