Sway Bar / Anti Roll bar bush replacement 100/6

Me again.....

I need to change the 8 bushes on the sway bar / ant roll bar

Is it advisable to remove the whole thing, especially the two central bushes, or will I get away with just undoing the 4 nylock nuts at both ends and replace the bushes or is there so much tension I will need to release the centre brackets?

When you say the 8 bushes I assume you mean the ones on the links. With the car level, there should be no tension on the anti-sway bar, so you may just undo the nylock nuts.

With the car jacked up at the front just undo the bolts . Easy.

If you have only one (1) wheel jacked up, the bar will under tension (one link compressed and the other extended); with both wheels on level ground or in the air, the end links can be serviced without removing the bar...

... unless the mounting strap's captive nuts are suspect, and you don't want to disturb them, now would be a good time to remove, clean up and paint the bar. Most get banged up and stone chipped pretty easily, so a little refreshening won't hurt.

Randy, you're right. Now I know they are captive bolts I will remove the bar and treat it to a fresh coat of paint
