An associate has a 1275 cc engine and a chance to pick up a 1500 midget that has a hole in its side and is missing a connecting rod.
Any comments as to making this swap? I'm assuming that it would require an Austin trans, but is this a feasible exchange?
Thanks
Doug

You'll need the motor mounts fro the 1275 and a rib case trans (or a 5 speed)and driveshaft, but it's pretty easily done.

+1 one, easy to put a 1275 in a 1500, hard to put a 1500 in a 1275

My 1500 was converted when I got it. You will have to get an early heater box with the intake on the opposite side. Also consider some exhaust mods. Carbs, distributor, exhaust are all on the opposite side compared to the 1500. I have lots of pics on my link below from all the work done on it. I love the 1275 swap.
