TR6 Surrey topped TR6's?

Hey guys,
Did British Leyland ever manufacture any Surrey topped TR6's? I've seen photos of some with this addition and wonder if they were the real deal. Great looking if I must say so. Too, the outside rearview mirrors on British and other TR6's were the winged type. I managed to get a set from MossUK and absolutely love the adjustability of the things, much better than the darn "bullet" type common in the US. Wonder what other items were not available over here "across the pond", besides PI. FYI, TR's were oft prebuilt in England and shipped to other far flung countries for assembly, maybe Belgium, Australia and even Brazil. Can anyone confirm this?

Don't think so, only appeared on TR4 through TR250. My 63 is a surrey, have always liked it. I put the steel top in a plywood box about 30 years ago, since I quit driving the car in winter.
 
Dr Bill. the trick on the retro fit is to install the early style cap mld on the windscreen frame. Then you can use the available replacement "hood" as if it were the older car.

howdy - wa surfing for some answers answers just yesterday and came across a personal web site of a guy who put a tr250 surrey on his tr6. as i remember, he didn't seem to have much trouble and had some explanation of the process. i think he bought a new one from the roadster factory and put it on. looks great and i want one too. unfortunaely, i don't remember his url! he's out there tho and enough searching will turn him up.

My understanding is that the CKD (Completely Knocked Down) kits were prepared throughout the range of TR2-6 though I have not seen anything identifying which countries were receiving cars this way.

I think there would have been a very very small number of vehicles prepared this way.
