Most people have ten fingers...what's the problem!

Agreed, it was a great game with all kinds of twists and turns. It was even better for me because I won the third quarter ($125) in the pool at work. :thirsty:

"Steeler Nation"... it has always amazed me to see the number of Steeler fans around here. License tags, bumper stickers etc. This past week has been even more so. I caught "Pittsburghese" bein' spoken in all manner of places.

I get the impression Tampa will be said to be a good host when all return to da 'burgh.

Can I still vote in the poll? I think the Cardinals have a good chance.

Total insanity last night.

My ears are still ringing.

I kinda gave up on watching professional football with watching this game. Oh, there were some moments when the Cardinals were shooting themselves in the foot, Warner's interception. Over a 100 yards in penalties. But, I saw them playing with more heart than the Steelers..

Saw soooo many penalties that weren't called by the officials that the Steelers were doing. And for gosh sake, What that ana*** or** did by punching the Cardinal when he was down and they only penalized 1/2 the distance to the goal... Come on, now he should have been ejected....

Also the winning touchdown you can see where a Cardinal is being held with his top being pulled away from his shoulder pad.. Penalty call, NADA!!

Really makes me wonder how much the refs were getting paid, and by whom...

The only way that would get me interested in trying to watch one of these games in the future is if they get more officials on the field for a championship game. More is needed....

I disagree, I beleive the referees are part of the game, they are human and make mistakes, I beleive they are mostly honest. What I hate is the Replay. The replay was pushed by Vegas because too many teams were being upset with what was lucky plays and plays that were just missed. Since the replay has been instituted, the Vegas odds makers have incresed their winnings. I have Umped ASA softball and as slow as the game is I know my "team" of two miss calls regularly. 5 people watching 22 atheltes running fast, in close proximity, trying to keep from being crushed, they do fine.

I would recommend any one who thinks they can do better to attend an "high school offical" training and after one day see if you could do it.

Well then, we must agree to disagree. This is a PROFESSIONAl sport. As such the actions on the field should be above reproach.

I did umpire little league baseball, and t-ball lonnng time ago. Did some help out with high school soccer a couple of decades ago..

I am familiar with the humanness of umpires and refereeing. That is why they have gone to replay to help overcome the errors..

But it is insufficient. Like I said there was a "slap on the hands" for the Steeler who back punched the Cardinal, several times when he was on the ground... And watch the rerun or a tape. When the steeler made their final touchdown you can see a Cardinal being held. They need more officials on the field during Championship games.

What I have found interesting is that when I am emotionally involved in a game the referees seem much worse to me than in games that I do not care about. This is the same for High School, College, and Pro Sports. And if every single infraction would be caught, the game could have gone much later than it did.

But I still question how the Chicago Cardinals are listed as the 1925 champions when they lost the championship game...

Although I don`t give two hoots an` a hollar about Football An` could care less who wins or looses I do think instant replay is essential in any professional sport especially the ones where wagering money is accepted.
It is true that to error is human nature as is bias and favoritism. Therefore instant replay can and does remove the "Human nature element" from influencing the outcome of any given game. Not saying that referees are corrupt or intentionally biased mind ya, just that the "Human Nature Element" does exist.
For us Basket Ball fans the Human Nature Element is prevalent in most every game played by the N.B.A. teams in the fact that what one "Star Player" can do and get away with but when a rookie {or even a not so popular veteran player} try's the same thing more often than not the lesser player/s will get called while the "Star Player" continues to rack up points.
Enough said ...... this is just my opinion and observations in the game of pro Basketball.
P.S. even with I.R. I have seen bad calls stand in pro Basket Ball.
Really pretty disgusting if you think about it.
