Sun's shining, top's down...

Woke up to 8 inches of snow on the ground... a regular winter wonderland... and I thought winter was over.... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Weather in NY is wacky. Snow last Monday, 71Âş on Friday night. My other love is my bike (photo) and I could not resist a ride on it Satuday (last) night. Today bitterly cold & raining. I wish mother nature would show some consistancy with us.

79 NOW, with threats of T-storms about or so "they" say. Did get to go for a jaunt this morning. Very, VERY, nice to get her out and "stretch" a little. CHEERS!!!

Well its finally warm enough 55 F to push the ole B out of the stall, where its been hibernating since September.
Started on the first crank...
Must have had it winterized correctly. Now to drive it to here and there and back.
Cant waste a good day of top off action.

bit warmer today than it was yesterday.... still chilly as heck IMO though at a whopping 48F... I'm just glad I have a hardtop for the B... I can't imaging driving around with a soft top and it being as chilly as it is.

Heaters in my CB cars would blow me outta the things. Even in mid-winter in western PA I'd be dialing the things lower. Soft top or hard.

might be my next project... fidgetting with the heater junk... seems the interior/def knob doesn't do anything and it's stuck between the two settings. Personally, I don't think it gets hot enough... unless the suns out helping the interior of the car heat up and it's already upper 60s outside... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif

Something's FUBAR'd in there. It's time consuming but not hateful to pull it apart and make it all "as new." Actually Rube Goldberg silly once ya get into it.

Disclamer: "SOME gymnastics involved." /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/jester.gif

80's again today here... I think I might have actually gotten a bit of sunburn on my neck.

o_O

still chilly as all heck out here. Though it HAS wared up a bit...it's up to 48F today... heh - had to go for a spin to warm myself up a bit again... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Mid-70s here again today. B'd around biggest part of the day, accomplishing absolutely nothing but a lovely manicure.

I really need to get out of the north as my perspective on cold has totally changed. Took mine out today after a good washing to go pick up some rubber underspary and a few other things. Blasted around Pasadena with the top back off and wearing nothing but shorts and a t-shirt and a huge smile on my face. I don't think it ever made it past the low to mid 50's. The way people are dressed here you would think it was about 25 degrees outside.

Just curious... is rubber undercoating really any good? or bad for a car? This probably deserves it's own thread, but here goes.... I've seen cars with rubber undercoating that years (or decades) later the ruber is coming off in large hard flakes, and there's lots of rust under them.

Up for debate... and majorly hijacking this thread.

I don't know how good it actually is but I removed a bunch of it yesterday that had loosened and cracked after 30 years. Glad I did as there was some a 2 inch round area of rust that if left alone could of been bad. I figure I'll por 15 the area then replace the coating that was scraped off to keep it looking some what the same as the rest of the underside.

here's a pic my ex-roomies took further up the mountain at their parents' place....

It was up around 60F on Friday, so since it wasn't raining and actually threatened to be a nice day, I called my agent and put the insurance back on. Went for the maiden voyage of early spring Friday evening, but the top stayed up /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/driving.gif. Soon the top will be down, right?
