Unique but an ugly duckling..not at all in keeping with graceful lines of Sunbeams!

Hmmm...

Never heard one called a Sunbeam before, I've seen them before as Commer 2500 Highwayman motorhomes, and Joe Lightfoot in Ontario has a Commer similar to that up for sale.

Out of curiosity, a question for some of the Brits out there in the audience... Was that particular style of motorhome ever sold in England? I'm just wondering if it's unique to North America or not, I know there were (and are) various coachbuilders of motorhomes that simply design different units off the same chassis.

Some of them were sold with Sunbeam badges for the US-market only.

After Chrysler took over they started sticking Sunbeam badges on everything. Most Hillmans were sold with Sunbeam badges in continental Europe after the Chrysler takeover. Rootes carefully painted the Sunbeam marque as a manufacturer of sporting cars and the group's motorsport arm. Then Chrysler threw that all away. They pretty much guaranteed that nobody would be interested in building Sunbeam cars today.

Saw a Commer 2500 Highwayman motorhome four years ago in Canmore, Alberta (it wasn't in the driveway when I drove by about two weeks ago), and I know of several others in existence.

But I wonder if the one in Canmore was actually badged as a Commer or as a Sunbeam...
