Ok, I didn't actually spot this thing, it is on Craigslist within a days drive. Wouldn't it be cool to put a Daimler V-8 in this and give it a little bit of a 60s/70s muscle car treatment, making it a 3/4 scale American Barracuda/mopar clone complete with Hemi v-8 (the Daimler v-8 was a little hemi I am pretty sure). I confess that this is not an original idea, see the article referenced in the ad, but the Daimler v-8, or 215 alloy buick, mini v-8 in a mini car, would be really cool.

Or am I just a little perverse and weird?

Aren't we all?

Those GT's are great looking little cars - I always like the early Barracudas, and they do resemble them. Dropping in a V8 or even a V6 would make 'em even better!

I have seen a number of Sunbeams this summer:

Here's my pal Rocco Lojac who races with me. He lives very close to the old Bridgehampton race track. This was taken at NHMS last weekend.

And here's a street Alpine I saw at Thompson Speedway earlier in the summer:

And, I saw this Tiger in Shenley Park at the PVGP not long ago. I could hold him off in The Serpentine section of the circuit, but he ran away from me on even short straights.

Finally, ~This Guy~ (Jan Eyerman) lives about a mile from me.

Saw one the other day - convertible that is coming down the highway north of Toronto. And to conserve pixels, rather than start a new post, saw a TR6 and a TVR in front of a coffee shop in Ellicotville today. With the weather and the locale I suspect they were having a very good day.

I have a neighbor and friend who has two alpines, don't remember the series, but an older red one with the big fins, and a newer one, same light blue as the racecar shown above, I have helped him work on them, they are interesting cars, like the MGs and Triumphs most of us are familiar with is some ways, different in others, perhaps a little more "American" bigger, more comfortable, saw an period ad where Sunbeam was offering a three year warranty on their cars, which was quite good in those days, I think they were pretty well built. The guy also has a Hillman Imp, sold as a Sunbeam here, now that is an interesting little car.

We have at least 4 rear-engine Ginettas that race with us.

All use Hillman/Sunbeam Imp engines & gearboxes (plus many other Rootes parts) They are 1 liter screamers.

The engines in these cars was "inspired" by the similar Coventry Climax engine (although they share no exact parts with the CC engines)

I have had many excellent nose-to-tail races with this particular car.
