So, yesterday I bought three car stereos for the grand total of $1! (Gotta love Kijiji) Not even sure if they work but who cares?

The best part, I even got a MUNTZ 8 track! Though I'm thinking of keeping that for the Vauxhall. (More 60's than 70's)

Last summer in prep for the Spridget 50th, I had to pull the console to fix the cigarette lighter for my GPS and in doing so did something bad to the unit in there (the one I got for free)

Hurray!

What's Kijiji?

Canadian version of Craigslist. Bought my MGB off there last year.

Thanks

Can you still find many (any) 8-track tapes? Steppenwolf? Petula Clark?
I loved those back in the day... but they took up a lot of space (if you had many at all). :yesnod:

I have no idea but this looks intriguing

Fabulous! It's official, it's not a real audio device till it's been adapted to 8 track!

Cool. Not surprised they have such converters. Still, cassettes hold a lot more than 8-tracks... and I'm stickin' with new-fangled technology (mp3s and flash memory). But I suppose that defeats the purpose of the full retro look. :square:

That is interesting- just take the guts from a cassette adapter and pit them in an 8-track case. Not a huge market but would be easy.

A quick search shows:
1) a number of companies that specialize in converting media
2) a bunch of stuff on eBay for conversion
3) a lot of methods...

I've got a Craig Powerplay 8 track player
that I need to put in one of the older cars.I also
have the matching speakers for it.
This was the highest tech 8 track player
that you could get for a car back in '72!
