Summer is almost over!

It's too hot in Houston to drive with the top down in the summer, during the day, but this weekend was unusual. I drove my TR6 to San Antonio, spent the night at Canyon Lake, and drove back home today. No rain, no break downs, no excessive sun burn, just 400+ miles of driving pleasure.

Saturday morning there wasn't a cloud in the sky, and the temperature was in the low 60s (by 10am, morning wore off, and normal heat returned). But it was great to be able to wear a wind breaker.

The drive down river road made up for the heat this afternoon. -Windy and twisty with lots of river crossings lined with bikini clad ladies on tubes with thumbs in the air. -Does it get any better?

I got to test out my new temperature sending unit -works fine. And the new air flow duct keeps the temperature exactly between the two dots all the time. The added pusher fan never turned on -but I'm closer to getting the A/C working for next year.

I did notice that when I stop for gas, and restart, the temperature is very high for a couple minutes. -Not enough for the fan to come on, and it drops quickly as I drive, so I'm guessing that's normal.

Top down weather is coming soon.

Slight temp rise just after shutdown is perfectly normal. No worries.

I remember back in the days I lived in Beaumont, when the humidity and temperature were both close to 100. Argh. But we sure looked forward to fall (and even winter!).

Here in New England we *might* get back up to 85 Tuesday. Been fantastic for the last month or so. Now the leaves are changing colors and there's a cool haze in the air early in the morning.

Driving with the top down? Is there any other way?

Since I'm vary familiar with where you are located I'd have to agree...I used to spend many nights along I-45 just north of Spring at our trucking office...

Roadster weather is just around the corner...

Hey, Texas -

Glad you got the 6 out. I remember well the scenery in the Hill Country - my aunt and uncle lived in Comfort. Lots of good driving roads. I seem to remember a stretch of road called "The Devil's Backbone" - probably a lot bumpier and twistier in my memory than reality.
