Picked up the '67 BJ8 from frame repair. Asked for a once over for rattle sources, got window channel felts, repaired handles, window lifts, and a number of other items related to suspension, including the frame repair under $3500 Canadian taxes in.

Car drives unbelievably well. Solid as a rock, no rattles over anything, smooth as silk at 100mph. What a relief. No longer can believe this is a 40 year old car.

My gratitude to all who offered tips and reassurance...and especially to Bob Yule at Autofarm who did the work.

Cheers,
Chris

Hi Cris,
I'm very glad that it turned out so well. You obviously had someone who knows what they are doing & cares, working on it. The original cars were smooth & stable up to their top speed, as any real sports car should be. I would say that the price was reasonable also.

I've been following this post from the start and now extremely encouraged on the final results. Chris, congratulations on your perserverance and choice of a competent mechanic!

Lately I've been rotating the wheels around and some combinations really improve the ride quality. e.g no shimmy or shake at speed. This was done to justify replacing the Dunlop wheels, which may not be "centered" - and thus require tire shaving to reduce hop - and tires which are starting to pull in weird directions.

Anyway it's an excuse to buy Chrome 15 x 5 in. Dayton rims and slightly wider tires. And although I'm kind of a purist; it's a look that I happen to like for the BJ-7s. GONZO.

What a great feeling! Really glad to hear you got it sorted out and avoided a very dangerous situation with your frame being cracked and misaligned.

Cheers,
John
