SU turbo manifold

hi guys.
Found this on Ebay just now.

2* 2" SU Turbo/Supercharger manifold

I know this would be slightly too big for the 1&3/4 SU carb's i have on my B, but would it be possible... in complete laymans terms, to get two identical 1&3/4 thick metal inserts inbetween the carb and the manifold and file away the inside edges to blend between the 1/4 inch difference?

Is it possible to use a 2" carb on a MGB?
Is it too big?

Are SU induction manifolds rare/expensive?

or should i hang off and find a place who can sell me a 1&3/4" one?

Cheers guys..

Hello Jarrod,

certainly there would be no real problem fitting the 1 3\4"'s to that manifold but have you got a supercharger?

Well, this would aid in mating that Toyota Supercharger you were looking at before..

However, you could go with any carb if you are setting up a new induction system. I'd be more inclined to go with a standard 4bbl carb with secondaries that could handle the volume from the supercharger... Once you decide to put a toyota supercharger in, I don't see the purists approach having any weight.

It sounds like a pretty simple adapter plate that you need, you could probably fab one up with home shop tools.

Good Luck
