SU jet problem

I am cleaning my carbs up due to the old fuel that was left in them. The rear one ones almost perfectly clean, and took very little cleaning. The front carb though, was all gummed up and the piston was even sticking do to so much old fuel/varnish. During the process of cleaning I tried to remove the jet assembly from the jet bearing and it wouldn't move. It won't twist or slide or do anything. I tried brake clean, carb clean, penitrating fluid, nothing worked. So how can I get the jet assembly out?

Have you tried a carb dip? if you can get the majority of the rubber off/out of the carb body, try getting a small container of carb dip (spraying carb cleaner in a bucket doesn't count) and letting it soak first for 15 minutes, and if that doesn't work try an hour, or even overnight. of course, always read the warning and instructions beforehand.

just a thought.

Order your rebuild kit now, if you haven't already. After spraying all that stuff and espically if you dip it, the seals are going to be bad. Those cork ones around the jet tube tend to dissappear when you spray them with anything stronger than WD40.
