Hello Scott,
1 1\8" carbs are rather rare, I would think, maybe early Mk 1 AH Sprites (Frog eyed Sprite, here in the UK) used them.
I'm sure your Herald will run on Spitfire HS2's just the matter of using the Spitfire manifold and getting it set up properly.
Are your H1's too far gone to overhauls?

Hi
I emailed andrew mace about the herald spit switch and the Hi carbs.
Also talked with mark vosser in Rochester ZNy and he thought that the SU H2 spitfire carbs would work with some tweeking.
I have a set of 63 carbs with manifold that seems to fit. I need to get the Herald from thew barn to my shop to see if i can make it work out.
But have to move a lot of snow to do this, first.
The H1 carbs came with the car in a cardboard box already taken apart and lots of pieces are MIA.
The saga continues.thanks
scot

I've got lots of the little dual carb setups that came off old 948 Mini's, MG1100's, & early Midgets....

Hi.
Andy is a great person to talk to, I do have a set of carb's off a 61 Herald Coupe, However They are in need of serious rebuild, I have most of the engine still in the car along with a few odd bit's I didnt need for the Sports 6.
If you meet Andy face to face, He has a video of the Herald, Just for fun, But I will be getting rid of it here in the comming months.
Good luck!
