SU Fuel Pump Install Question

Does anyone have a picture of a fuel pump installed from the underside so I can see how the hoses run?? Mine was flopping around in the trunk when I got the 74.5 B and the connection of the hoses does not seem obvious - at least to me. I am not sure if the parts attached to the pump and the parts attached to the car are original or have been cut, bent etc. A picture would be worth the proverbial and prevent me from doing it my way vs. the right way. Thanks in advance.

Simon - I'm not sure where the pump mounts in a 74 MGB, whether in the trunk with the alloy pump body sticking out under the car, or just forward of the right rear tire with the end cover sticking into the battery box. regardless of where it mounts, if it is a SU fuel pump it mounts with the top hat shapped cover pointing straight up and the inlet/outlet ports pointing to the right as viewed from the back of the pump. Oriented this way the lower port is the inlet and the upper one is the outlet. If you need further clarification, e-mail me and I'll try to walk you through it.
Cheers,

Dave - thanks for the response. I got mine in and working although mine "faces" left by your description. Will this cause a problem?

On the 74.5, the pump is in the trunk with a square cover over it.

Yup. The "dry" bits are inna boot, the lines are "below"... There should be "IN' and "OUT" designations on the pump fittings.

"mine "faces" left by your description. Will this cause a problem?" If you are looking at the pump from under the car, the inlet/outlet ports should point to the right. Facing left, If I am picturing what you are saying correctly, will put the inlet port on the top and the outlet port on the bottom. The pump will work in this position, just not as efficiently.
Cheers,
