SU Carbs - Needle and Seat

Folks.

I have always used the traditional needle and seat in carbs on my Healey.
I have Gross jets in a TR3.

What are your thoughts on using the Gross jets in the SU carbs on a Healey 3000.

Thanks.
Ron

I put Grose Jets in my BJ8 probably 30 years ago; they've worked flawlessly ever since. While trying to diagnose a fuel delivery problem--eventually found to be caused by a pinhole leak in the tank pickup tube--I tried a couple sets of GJs and they both stuck closed intermittently. Word has it the company was sold at some point and quality went into the loo. I have no idea what the current state is; you could try a set and maybe get lucky. Or not.

Recently rebuilt carbs and converted them back from fully functional gross jets to the newer Viton-tipped needles. Made float adjustment and consequently carb adjustments easier. Gross jets seemed to make the carbs run richer due to difficult float adjustment. Gonzo
