SU Carb Rebuild and Identification

Yup, both marked as 550R. I'll be spending tomorrow with the degreaser and see what I can find out from there.

Just kidding. 550F and 550R. Some stray grease blurring my vision. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Hi Gabe,

Burlen Manufacturing in England now owns the SU name, makes and sells carbs and parts. They have very complete reference on their website at https://www.burlen.co.uk/ regarding what model carbs were OEM specification. I suggest you take a look if you think that would help.

The "AUDxxx" tag is normally mounted under one of the screws on the carb, not sure on HIFs, but usually on one of the float bowl covers of H and HSs. It's most often a small, bright tag. Unfortunately, these are often left off and lost when the carbs are rebuilt.

Hope this helps!

Alan
