SU carb ID and questions

I received a couple sets of SU carbs and want to buy the rebuild kit for one of them. They both look similar but are different. The damper says AUC 8114, the ID tag reads AUD 135F and writing on the manifold? reads 12H1398 P1 MOWOG. I don't know what year vehical they are off of and I only included the ID numbers of the one I want to rebuild. Also, could use some pics of mounted set up. I looked at the VB catalog and it looks like SU HIF4 series but I'm not sure.
Thanks

No one on the forum has a pic of their SU set up?! Found out the carbs are HS not HIF. Will be ordering rebuild kit soon an K&N filters. Any thoughts?

Well, I have an HS setup, but its not on my car yet. But I try to attach a picture or two from the net.

From what I've read you will also need to change needles if you run K&N filters on your set up. Burgess suggests #6's for HS's and ABD's for HIF's.

I'd also suggest reading the article at:
https://www.triumphclub.co.nz/su_carbs.html

Very good article about how to actually tune the carbs, not just set them.

and the second attachment.

I too would really like to see some GOOD pictures of some of the members carb setups so that I too will know that I'm conecting them correctly when I go to switch over.

Hello Rick,
an AUD 135F is the front carburettor from an 1966 MGB and is a HS4 i.e 1 1\2" choke size.

Thanks for the pics. It helps a lot. Shouldn't the air filters have a cover? What color is the heat shield supposed to be? I couldn't quite tell from the pics.
Cheers
Rick

The air filters are K&N's - I believe that they're supposed to be that way (but I'm a new guy here, so I'll bow to the opinions of the more experienced members).

The heat shield, as I recall, is silver colored metal and is a bit discolored from the heat (the car's buried behind a lot of stuff right now) - but I have no clue about it's original color. I'll try and dig it out for a better look later on this week (and more pics).

I was blessed with 2 great previous owners, who have lovingly restored and taken care of my baby over the past 20 years. Without them, my baby wouldn't look anywhere near as good as this!

EDIT: Took some pics just now, and they're all too dark! I've gotta recharge the camera. The heat shield is painted silver BTW.
